Arizona Diamondbacks 3 – Chicago White Sox 2

Highlights:  Jake McCarthy hit a tiebreaking double in the ninth inning and the Arizona Diamondbacks completed a three-game sweep of the struggling Chicago White Sox with a 3-2 victory Sunday. Diamondbacks rookie Stone Garrett launched his first major league home run and Sergio Alcántara also went deep for Arizona, which earned its first interleague sweep since 2019. Chicago Cubs 7 – Milwaukee Brewers 9

Highlights:  Christian Yelich and Kolten Wong each homered for the second straight game and Garrett Mitchell drove in two runs with his first hit as a major leaguer, leading the  Milwaukee Brewers over the Chicago Cubs 9-7 Sunday. Mitchell, Milwaukee’s first-round choice in the 2020 MLB draft, made his debut Saturday as a defensive replacement after getting called up from Triple-A Nashville, where was hitting .343 with nine RBI in 20 games. Chicago SkyConnecticut Sun 68 – Chicago Sky 63  (CON leads series 1-0)

Highlights:  Connecticut Sun coach Curt Miller knows his team won’t be able beat the defending WNBA champions on style points or offensive prowess alone. To beat the Chicago Sky in a five-game series, Miller believes you can’t be afraid to make a mess. DeWanna Bonner had 15 points and nine rebounds to lead the Sun to a 68-63 win over Sky in Game 1 of their WNBA semifinals series on Sunday night. Jonquel Jones scored 12 points and also grabbed nine rebounds for the Sun, Alyssa Thomas had 12 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists, and Brionna Jones added 12 points.
