After losing the finale of a three-game series against the Mets on Wednesday, the Cubs bounced back with their 17th win in 23 games. Milwaukee Brewers 7 – Chicago White Sox 6 (10 innings)
Highlights: Mark Canha hit a go-ahead RBI double in the 10th inning, and the Milwaukee Brewers overcame a three-run deficit to beat the Chicago White Sox 7-6 on Friday night. Milwaukee trailed 5-2 before scoring two runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth. Andrew Vaughn tied the score with an RBI groundout in the seventh. With automatic runner Brice Turang on second in the 10th, Canha hit a one-out double into the left-field corner off Jimmy Lambert (2-2). Highlights: Breanna Stewart had 21 points and 12 rebounds to help the New York Liberty beat the Chicago Sky 89-73 on Friday night for their fifth straight victory. New York (23-6) equaled the franchise record for victories in a season, matching the 2015 team. While New York clinched a playoff spot Thursday night by virtue of a few other teams losing, Chicago (12-17) is currently sitting in eighth place in the standings.
