Chicago Cubs Chicago Cubs 4 – Toronto Blue Jays 11

Highlights:  Daulton Varsho homered and had five RBI, Hyun Jin Ryu pitched five innings to win for the first time since returning from elbow surgery, and the Toronto Blue Jays avoided a three-game sweep by beating the Chicago Cubs 11-4 on Sunday. Whit Merrifield had four hits,  Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had two hits and two RBI and Brandon Belt reached base four times as the Blue Jays used 14 hits to snap a three-game losing streak. The Cubs lost for the seventh time in 25 games. Chicago White SoxMilwaukee Brewers 7 – Chicago White Sox 3

HighlightsCarlos Santana hit a three-run homer and Freddy Peralta pitched six scoreless innings to help the  Milwaukee Brewers beat the Chicago White Sox 7-3 on Sunday and complete a three-game sweep.  Christian Yelich added a two-run single for Milwaukee, which pushed its NL Central lead to 3 1/2 games after the Chicago Cubs fell at Toronto. White Sox starter Dylan Cease (5-6) gave up two runs on five hits in seven innings. The 2022 AL Cy Young runner-up missed a shot at a second straight win after striking out seven and walking two. Peralta (9-8) scattered four hits and struck out six while walking three for his third straight victory. Chicago SkyChicago Sky 76 – Washington Mystics 83

HighlightsBrittney Sykes scored a season-high 30 points on 11-of-18 shooting to help the Washington Mystics beat the Chicago Sky 83-76 on Sunday to snap a three-game skid. Sykes added six assists and five steals. Queen Egbo made 7 of 7 from the field and scored 16 points for the Mystics and Tianna Hawkins added 13 points. Washington (14-16) won for just the second time since an 84-69 victory against the Phoenix Mercury on July 23. Kahleah Copper led Chicago (12-18) with 17 points, Marina Mabrey scored 15 and Courtney Williams 13.
