Chicago Cubs Chicago Cubs 6 – Detroit Tigers 8

Highlights:  Andy Ibañez had his first two-homer game to help the Detroit Tigers beat the Chicago Cubs 8-6 on Tuesday night. Tyler Holton (3-2) got the victory with 1 1/3 innings of relief. Alex Lange pitched the ninth for his 19th save. The bullpen pitched 4 1/3 scoreless innings in relief of starter Reese Olson. Former Tiger Drew Smyly (9-9) took the loss, allowing seven runs on eight hits and three walks in 3 2/3 innings. Read more at:  (AP)

Chicago White SoxSeattle Mariners 6 – Chicago White Sox 3

Highlights:  Josh Rojas has adapted quite nicely to life with the surging Seattle Mariners.  Rojas hit a two-run homer and six Seattle relievers combined for five effective innings, helping the Mariners beat the Chicago White Sox 6-3 on Tuesday night for their season-high eighth straight win. Rojas was acquired in the July 31 trade that sent closer Paul Sewald to Arizona. After getting off to a slow start with his new team, Rojas is batting .321 (9 for 28) with two homers and six RBI in his last seven games. Read more at:  (AP)

Chicago SkySeattle Storm 79 – Chicago Sky 102

Highlights:  Dana Evans scored 23 points, Marina Mabrey added 19 and the Chicago Sky snapped a five-game losing streak with a 102-79 victory over the Seattle Storm on Tuesday night. It was Chicago’s first victory since scoring 104 points in back-to-back games against Dallas in early August. Evans and Mabrey combined for seven of Chicago’s nine 3-pointers. Evans was 4 of 6 from distance and Mabrey went 3 for 8. Alanna Smith had 14 points and Kahleah Copper added 12 on 5-of-14 shooting for Chicago (13-20). Courtney Williams added 10 points. Chicago led 50-40 at halftime behind 11 points from Copper. Read more at:  (AP)
