Chicago White Sox Minnesota Twins 6 – Chicago White Sox 7

Highlights:  At the end of a miserable season for the Chicago White Sox, Gavin Sheets just wants to see the team finish on a high note. With one big swing Saturday night, Sheets did his part to help with that goal. Sheets and Eloy Jiménez homered during Chicago’s five-run first inning, leading the White Sox to a 7-6 victory over Pablo López and the Minnesota Twins. Touki Toussaint struck out eight in five effective innings as lowly Chicago stopped a four-game slide. Tim Anderson had three hits and started a key double play in the seventh. Chicago CubsChicago Cubs 6 – Arizona Daimondbacks 7  (13 innings)

Highlights:  Gabriel Moreno singled to right to score Evan Longoria in the 13th inning and the Arizona Diamondbacks rallied to beat the Chicago Cubs 7-6 on Saturday night. With runners at the corners and two outs and Arizona down to its last strike, Emmanuel Rivera hit a liner off right-hander Hayden Wesneski’s pitching arm that rebounded toward shortstop. Dansby Swanson let the ball bounce, but it spun away from him for a hit that allowed the tying run to score. Moreno followed with his single, and Longoria slid headfirst and got his left hand around Yan Gomes’ mitt after the catcher gloved Seiya Suzuki’s throw.
