Highlights:  Zac Gallen pitched a three-hitter for his second career complete game, helping the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Chicago Cubs 1-0 on Friday for their third straight win.  Rookie Corbin Carroll accounted for the game’s only run with a two-out RBI single in the eighth inning against Mark Leiter Jr. Seiya Suzuki nearly made a terrific catch in right field, but the ball hit the grass in front of his glove and the out call by first base umpire Stu Scheurwater was overturned in a video review. Highlights:  Mike Clevinger combined with two relievers on a three-hitter, Luis Robert Jr. broke up rookie Reese Olson’s no-hit bid to spark a go-ahead, two-run seventh inning and the Chicago White Sox beat the Detroit Tigers 6-0 on Friday night. After Robert singled with one out in the seventh, Yoán Moncada hit a tiebreaking, two-run homer that chased Olson (3-7). Chicago SkyMinneosta Lynx 87 – Chicago Sky 92

Highlights:  Kahleah Copper scored 20 points, Marina Mabrey added 19 and the Chicago Sky clinched the last playoff spot Friday night with a 92-87 win over the Minnesota Lynx.  Chicago’s win eliminated the Los Angeles Sparks while Minnesota (19-20) dropped into a tie for the fifth-seed with Atlanta with one game remaining. The season ends Sunday with Chicago (17-22), locked into the eighth seed, playing at Connecticut while Minnesota goes to Indiana.
